Ankheg MM2025 by MZ4250
Description
The soil erupts without warning — chitinous legs scrambling for purchase, hooked foreclaws reaching, and a crown of serrated spines fanning wide as the ankheg drags itself into the light and fixes every compound eye on its prey.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
The ankheg is one of the most iconic burrowing predators in D&D — a multi-limbed insectoid horror with a segmented carapace, slashing foreclaws, and a maw ringed with curved mandibles. This sculpt from MZ4250 captures that threat with real presence: the creature is mid-surface-emergence, foreclaws raised and spread, its spiny dorsal crest fanned aggressively outward. Scattered bones and rubble on the integrated base hint at a hunting ground well used. This is not a creature caught off-guard — it's one that has done this before.
At 32mm scale the level of detail is remarkable. The segmented armour plating on the thorax, the textured spines along every limb, the compound eyes set beneath that ferocious crest — all translate exactly as you'd want onto the tabletop. Whether you're running a farmland blight encounter, an Underdark hunting-ground scene, or simply want a centrepiece creature on your display shelf, this mini earns its place.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a compelling burrowing predator for wilderness or subterranean encounters
- Are building encounter-ready monster collections for D&D 5e or other TTRPGs
- Want a characterful display piece that rewards careful painting
- Are running campaigns with agricultural destruction, hive threats, or insectoid creature lairs
Encounter Hook:
The village of Ashford has lost three plough-horses in as many nights, each dragged underground by something the survivors describe only as "claws and spines and a sound like cracking wood." The party arrives at dawn to find fresh tunnel openings in the south field — and one of them is still moving.
Details
This miniature is printed at 32mm scale and comes attached to its integrated scenic base. It arrives ready for priming and painting, though it displays well straight from the box. Each piece is individually quality checked — minor print artefacts are rare but possible and are easily addressed with light sanding.
