This is pose 04 of the Yasashii Kyojin Studios Ankheg range, and it occupies a genuinely distinctive niche in any DM's toolkit: the dead ankheg. Captured flat on its back, all six segmented limbs splayed upward with curved claws frozen mid-air, the sculpt depicts the chitinous horror in its final, defeated position. The underbelly musculature is richly detailed — layered plates, exposed joints, and that distinctly alien silhouette that makes ankhegs so unsettling even when they're not a threat. At 22mm in height (lying flat), it reads clearly on the tabletop without dominating the scene.
Whether you use it as a combat outcome marker, a dungeon dressing piece, environmental hazard aftermath, or the centrepiece of an investigation hook, this is a sculpt that rewards creative DMs. It works equally well as a painted display piece on a shelf — the geometry of those clawed limbs and the textured carapace underside offer excellent depth for washes and drybrushing alike.

Supplied at 32mm scale. The mini measures approximately 22mm in height as it lies flat. Supplied unprimed and unpainted, ready for painting or use as-is. Each piece is quality checked before dispatch; as with any detailed sculpt, minor imperfections from the printing process can occasionally occur and are easily addressed before painting.
