Description

The earth shudders. The treeline snaps. Something older than kingdoms has woken — and it is already too late to run.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Tarasque is one of D&D's most legendary threats — a colossal, virtually unkillable beast that has terrorised entire civilisations. This sculpt by Epic Miniatures captures that apocalyptic presence in extraordinary detail. The body is an armoured fortress of overlapping scales, each individually rendered, rising to a brutal ridge of jagged dorsal spines down the creature's back. The spiked tail tapers to a wicked cluster of spines, and the head is low, horned, and bristling with open jaws that suggest this thing does not stalk prey so much as obliterate it.

Mounted on a gargantuan 102mm base, this is a centrepiece miniature in every sense. The sheer mass of the sculpt — those heavy haunches, the barrel chest, the thickness of each limb — communicates raw physical danger before a single die has been rolled. Painted, it would reward layered techniques: dark washes into the scale recesses, drybrushing across the ridge plates, a slick or earthy treatment on the underside. Unpainted in grey, it already commands the table.

The miniature arrives as a multipart kit, giving painters the ability to prime and colour individual sections before final assembly — particularly useful for getting into the deep recesses of the spinal plates and underbelly scales.

Well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Need a D&D Tarasque miniature worthy of a campaign-defining encounter
  • Want a large-scale centrepiece creature for display painting or competition
  • Are running a high-level campaign in need of a genuine legendary threat
  • Collect gargantuan monsters and demand the same quality across every piece
  • Want a Pathfinder or TTRPG boss creature with serious table presence

Encounter Hook

The party has been hired to investigate why a coastal trading route has gone silent. Three days into the journey they find the road simply ends — not blocked, not washed away, but crushed flat for half a mile in each direction, the earth compacted by something of impossible weight. Fresh tracks lead inland. Somewhere ahead, the Ancient Tarasque has turned from the sea and is moving towards the capital. The party has six hours before it reaches the city walls.
