Copper Dragons are the great wits of dragonkind — pranksters, riddlers, and collectors of jokes nearly as vast as their hoards. But do not let the laughter fool you. An Ancient Copper Dragon has watched empires rise and crumble, and it has survived every one of them. This sculpt captures that contradiction brilliantly: wings spread wide to their fullest gargantuan span, one clawed foreleg raised with an almost casual confidence, jaws parted as though the dragon is mid-sentence — and you cannot quite tell whether what follows will be a jest or a wall of acid breath.
The detail across this sculpt is remarkable. Overlapping scales shift in texture across the body, transitioning from tight, close-plated armour on the chest and limbs to broader, rougher scaling along the back and flanks. The wings carry deeply ribbed membrane between long finger-bones, each wingtip ending in a sharp talon. A ridge of dorsal spines runs the full length of the spine, and the barbed tail curves out behind with real weight and authority. The face is expressive and alert — brow ridges drawn forward, teeth visible, the expression hovering between amusement and warning.
The sculpt is mounted on a rugged rocky outcrop base that suits both gaming use and display purposes. The miniature is multipart, allowing for cleaner printing and assembly. Given its gargantuan footprint, this is a centrepiece-level model — the kind that earns its own shelf space between sessions.
Available in two variants: one with the decorative sculpted base, and one without for adventurers who prefer to base their own.
Well suited for adventurers who:
- Need an Ancient Copper Dragon as a campaign centrepiece — ally, rival, or final boss
- Want a display-quality dragon that rewards careful painting
- Are building out a mountainside or highland encounter with real dramatic presence
- Run Pathfinder, D&D 5e, or any system where a gargantuan creature needs gargantuan presence on the table
Encounter Hook
The party has travelled three days into the Sunstone Peaks following a merchant's tip about a dragon who trades in secrets. They find Kethravixan perched atop a collapsed watchtower, one claw idly turning over a small blue gemstone, wings half-spread as though it was expecting them. It offers a riddle. If they answer correctly, it will tell them where the lich's phylactery is hidden. If they answer incorrectly — it smiles, and says it will give them a day's head start before it comes to collect the forfeit. The party quickly realises they do not know whether the dragon is joking.
