Description

Still as a sunken log and twice as deadly — the alligator waits at the water's edge, patient, ancient, and utterly indifferent to the party's survival.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This alligator miniature from Epic Miniatures is a Large-sized beast mounted on a 51mm oval base — and the sculpt uses every millimetre well. The creature is posed low to the ground in a prowling stance, its thick body coiled with potential energy. Every scale is individually rendered across the back, flanks, and sweeping tail, and the skin texture shifts convincingly from the broad dorsal osteoderms to the finer granular scales along the belly and legs. The broad, blunt snout, heavy jaw, and clawed feet all carry that sharp, lived-in realism that makes this sculpt feel like a creature pulled from an actual river delta rather than a game stat block.

In D&D 5e terms, this maps directly to the Crocodile stat block — a CR 1/2 Large Beast with a powerful bite and the ability to grapple and drag prey underwater. But scale it up in your imagination and you have something worthy of a Dire Crocodile, a swamp guardian, or even a creature magically warped by a Lizardfolk shaman's blessing. The pose — confident, grounded, unhurried — reads as a predator that has never once needed to rush.

Well suited for adventurers who:

  • Run swamp, jungle, bayou, or river delta encounters
  • Need a Large Beast token for D&D 5e, Pathfinder 2e, or other systems
  • Want a creature that doubles as a hazard, a mount, or a boss-tier threat with a bit of narrative flavour
  • Are painting a wetlands diorama or building a display piece around a natural predator
  • Play Lizardfolk, Tortle, or Yuan-Ti campaigns where reptilian fauna belong in the world

Encounter Hook: The river crossing looked shallow enough — until the far bank moved. Three alligators, massive and utterly silent, slide from the mud as the party realises the "stepping stones" they used to cross were not stones at all. The youngest adventurer is still standing on one of them.
