Description

He's already three ales deep, one hand outstretched with a rune-carved mug and the other clutching something that almost certainly shouldn't be handled while drinking — meet Nesbit, the alchemist who's survived this long through equal parts brilliance and stubbornness.

  • ✔ Large-scale display bust — significantly bigger than standard 32mm
  • ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
  • ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions

This large-format bust captures Nesbit mid-swagger: a barrel-chested dwarf in a heavy layered coat covered in Celtic knotwork engravings, his impressively braided beard falling down his chest, and a pair of brass goggles pushed up onto his forehead. His stance is wide and theatrical — one hand thrust forward triumphantly, the other gripping what appears to be a vial or small cannon barrel. The details here are extraordinary: rope-textured pauldrons, runic tankards at his belt, layered straps and pouches across his back, and a sculpted base of crumbling stone columns scattered with broken armour and crystal shards. The back of his coat is etched with intricate knotwork patterns that reward patient painters with a full display surface of texture and relief.

As a bust rather than a full miniature, Nesbit is designed to showcase painting technique, storytelling texture, and character expression. He'd sit equally well on a display shelf as a painting showcase piece or serve as visual reference for a memorable dwarf NPC — a travelling alchemist, a guild contact, a loud and loveable recurring patron at the tavern your party keeps accidentally blowing up.

Suited to adventurers who:

  • Enjoy display painting projects with rich surface texture and layered detail
  • Are building a dwarf or alchemist-themed shelf collection
  • Want a striking NPC reference for a D&D or TTRPG campaign
  • Love character busts that tell a story from every angle

Encounter Hook:
The party tracks down the only person rumoured to have synthesised a cure for the spreading grey-rot — and finds Nesbit exactly as described: perched atop a broken pillar in the ruins of his own workshop, ale in hand, goggles askew, and somehow in possession of every ingredient they need. The problem isn't the cure. The problem is the price he's named, and the very large, very angry creature currently circling the ruins that apparently also wants a word with him.
