The Akhlut is drawn from Inuit legend: a killer whale spirit that takes the form of a wolf or walks upon land, leaving wolf tracks in the snow that lead back into the sea. This sculpt from Yasashii Kyojin Studios captures that deeply unsettling ambiguity in miniature form — the unmistakable silhouette of a great white shark, complete with dorsal fin and caudal tail fin, mounted on the heavy-set, clawed legs of a terrestrial predator. It lumbers forward with its blunt head low, radiating the quiet menace of something that evolved past needing to hurry.
Details
At 66mm tall, this is a large creature with genuine table presence. The muscular body, defined clawed feet, and swept dorsal fin read clearly from across the battlemat, making it a striking centrepiece for aquatic border encounters, Arctic wilderness campaigns, or any setting where the boundary between sea and land has become dangerously blurred. Equally at home on a display shelf as it is terrorising a party of adventurers who thought they were safe inland.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run coastal, Arctic, or wilderness encounters that need a truly original apex predator
- Want a large creature miniature that reads as genuinely threatening from a distance
- Are building towards a homebrewed or published encounter featuring shapeshifting or spirit creatures
- Collect unusual beast sculpts for painting projects or display
Encounter Hook:
The fishing village has been losing people for a fortnight — always near the shore, always at dusk. When the party investigates, they find wolf tracks in the wet sand that simply end at the waterline. Then, as night falls, they hear something heavy moving through the pines behind them, and the tracks are heading back inland.
This is pose 02 of the Akhlut range from Yasashii Kyojin Studios. The miniature is printed at 66mm scale and comes unpainted, ready for priming and painting or use straight from the box. Some minor clean-up may be needed as with all high-detail resin prints — easily managed with a hobby knife or fine sandpaper. This is a Walk-style variant and does not include a base.
