Description
The cowbell still rings, but the sound that reaches the village now is wrong — too low, too wet, too deliberate.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
Something has found the herd. What was once an ordinary farm animal has been warped beyond recognition by aberrant influence — its bovine frame still unmistakably that of a cow, collar and bell intact, but erupting from its back are writhing, sucker-lined tentacles that twist upward with unsettling purpose. Ridged, chitinous growths press through the hide along its flanks, and a barbed tail curves where none should exist. The face, disturbingly, remains calm. This creature has not forgotten what it was — it simply no longer cares.
For Dungeon Masters running cosmic horror, Far Realm corruption, or aberration-themed campaigns, the Afflicted Cow is exactly the kind of creature that makes a village feel genuinely unsafe. It's the encounter your players won't see coming — and won't forget once they do. Equally at home on a display shelf as a centrepiece of weird fantasy, it holds its own as a collector's piece for anyone drawn to the grotesque and the unsettling.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run cosmic horror, Far Realm, or body-horror themed campaigns
- Want an encounter creature that subverts player expectations
- Are building a corrupted farmstead, cursed village, or aberrant lair encounter
- Collect unusual and characterful fantasy miniatures for display
Encounter Hook:
The party is hired to investigate a string of disappearances from the farms outside Millhaven. When they arrive, the fields are empty, the farmhouse door hangs open — and from the barn comes the slow, rhythmic clang of a cowbell. Whatever answers when they open that door is still wearing the collar.
