Description

He's not a hero — but he knows more than he lets on, and that twitch of his fist says this isn't the first time someone's come asking questions.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Aelfric is one of those figures every DM needs: a man of middling means and maximum suspicion. Dressed in a plain buttoned tunic, sturdy trousers, and worn boots, he carries a belt pouch and a small bag at his hip — the kit of someone who deals in goods, information, or both. His right hand hangs loose at his side while his left curls into a quiet fist, and his expression sits somewhere between guarded and calculating. He's not reaching for a weapon, but he's thinking about it.

Whether he's the fence who moves stolen goods through the docks, the reluctant informant who knows where the cult meets, or the landlord who keeps the wrong kind of ledger, Aelfric fills that essential role of the ordinary man with extraordinary secrets. He paints up equally well as a weathered commoner or a well-disguised operative — his understated sculpt rewards detail work on his face and belt accessories.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a grounded, believable NPC to populate urban or rural encounters
  • Want a morally ambiguous contact, informant, or fence for a campaign
  • Are building out a street-level location like a tavern, market, or guild hall
  • Enjoy painting characterful human figures with expressive faces and real-world detail
  • Collect display pieces that tell a story without a sword in hand

Encounter Hook:
The party has been told to find a man called Aelfric at the Broken Wheel tavern — he's the one who supposedly knows which merchant is supplying the slavers. When they spot him in the corner booth, he clocks them the moment they walk in, and that slowly unclenching fist tells them he's already deciding whether to talk or run.
