The Adult Red Dragon is the quintessential draconic threat — and Novaminis have captured exactly why adventurers dread hearing its name whispered in taverns. This sculpt presents the dragon in a low, predatory crouch with wings fully extended, taloned forelegs braced wide apart as though it has just landed and is deciding which target to incinerate first. The musculature across the chest and haunches is sculpted with genuine anatomical weight; this is a creature built for violence, not pageantry.

The head is the centrepiece. The jaws hang open, rows of teeth visible, framed by a crown of swept-back horns and a ridge of dorsal spines that runs the full length of a sinuous, whip-like tail. Every surface rewards a painter's attention — overlapping scales with crisp edges, leathery wing membranes with natural stretch and vein detail, and claws that dig into whatever surface they rest upon. This is the kind of sculpt that earns its place on a display shelf between campaigns as much as it does at the centre of a climactic encounter.

The multipart construction means the wings and other larger components are joined cleanly, allowing for a commanding table presence without compromise to the detail of any individual piece. A no-base option is included for adventurers who prefer to mount the dragon on their own scenic base, as well as a plain base variant for those who want something ready to go straight onto the table.

Suited to adventurers who:

• Are building towards a landmark BBEG encounter centred on a lair-dwelling red dragon
• Want a dragon sculpt with genuine anatomical menace rather than a cartoonish pose
• Paint display pieces and want a large, detail-rich subject that rewards time at the desk
• Run Tyranny of Dragons, Hoard of the Dragon Queen, or any homebrew campaign with draconic villains

Encounter Hook

The party has spent three sessions tracking the source of charred villages across the mountain range — and now, cresting the ridge above the caldera, they see it. Crouched on the obsidian ledge above its hoard, wings half-open, the dragon turns its head slowly in their direction. It already knew they were coming. It has been waiting.
