The Abyssal Chicken is one of those creatures that earns its reputation the moment it hits the table. Sculpted by Yasashii Kyojin Studios, this variant — pose 03 of the range — captures the creature mid-dive: broad leathery wings swept back, a long whip-like tail trailing behind, and that grotesque open maw bristling with layered teeth and probing claws. There's a manta ray silhouette to its body, but nothing about this thing belongs in any ocean you'd willingly sail. It belongs in the Abyss, and it knows it.
Whether you're running it as a summoned fiend, a swarm creature harassing a mid-tier party, or the physical manifestation of a warlock's patron's displeasure, this sculpt carries genuine menace. The detail across the wing membrane, the skeletal chest structure, and the layered jaw anatomy reward painters who want a project with real character. It also works straight off the shelf for gaming — unpainted grey resin with strong silhouette readability at tabletop distance.
For adventurers who:
- Need a fiend encounter that doesn't look like every other demon on the table
- Are running Abyss-adjacent campaigns, demon cults, or extraplanar incursions
- Want a creature mini that doubles as a display piece between sessions
- Are building a warlock patron or summoner's retinue with visual variety
Encounter Hook:
The party's contact in the merchant quarter had one instruction: don't open the crate. Naturally, someone opened the crate. Now three of these things are circling the rooftops, the summoner is nowhere to be found, and the city watch wants answers the adventurers very much do not have.
