Description
The dead tree stands at the crossroads, three ravens watching in silence — and every experienced traveller knows that where ravens gather, something has already died, or soon will.

- ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
- ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
- ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama
This evocative scatter terrain piece depicts a twisted, leafless tree with three ravens roosting at different heights — one with wings spread wide on the uppermost branch, one hunched and brooding mid-trunk, and a third perched on the opposite crown. The sculpt captures extraordinary bark texture across the gnarled trunk, with tufts of sparse scrubland growth and scattered stones at the base. It reads instantly as a place of ill omen — the kind of landmark a Dungeon Master plants at the edge of a cursed wood, a battlefield aftermath, or a witch's territory.
In folklore and fantasy alike, ravens are heralds of death, messengers of dark gods, and the eyes of those who deal in secrets. Whether you're running a Ravenloft campaign, a grim wilderness hex-crawl, or a gothic urban mystery, this piece adds narrative weight to any scene without a word of explanation needed. It works equally well as a centrepiece scatter prop or as a striking display piece for collectors drawn to darker fantasy aesthetics.
Brilliant for adventurers who:
- Want atmospheric scatter terrain for wilderness, gothic, or graveyard encounters
- Are building immersive battle maps with strong visual storytelling
- Run campaigns in Ravenloft, the Shadowfell, or other dark fantasy settings
- Collect striking character-rich diorama pieces alongside their minis
- Need a memorable landmark to anchor a key scene on the tabletop
Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking the missing villagers for two days when they find the old crossroads tree. Three ravens sit motionless in its branches — and beneath the roots, barely concealed by disturbed earth, a freshly dug shallow grave. The ravens do not flee as the adventurers approach. They simply watch. One tilts its head and speaks a single name: the name of the rogue standing at the back of the party.
