Description

Tucked into the corner of the archmage's tower, a latticed shelf groans under the weight of ancient scrolls, forgotten maps, and treatises that no living wizard has dared to open.

  • ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
  • ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
  • ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama

The Scroll Shelf 01 from Novaminis is a richly detailed scatter terrain piece that brings a wizard's study, a scribe's archive, or a thieves' guild record room to life on your tabletop. The diamond-lattice rack is packed with rolled scrolls of varying sizes — some neatly stowed, others bundled together or loosely stacked at the base alongside a pair of small books. Atop the shelf sits a quill stand with an inkwell and a feather quill, suggesting a workspace still very much in use.

The wood-grain texture on the solid back and sides gives the piece a grounded, hand-crafted feel, while the open lattice front allows light and line-of-sight to pass through in a way that makes it genuinely functional on a game grid. The level of scroll detail — individual spiral ends, varying thicknesses, and clustered bundles — rewards a careful paint job with washes and drybrushing, making this equally compelling as a display diorama piece.

This is the first variation in the Scroll Shelf range. If you're building out a full arcane library or scribing chamber, other numbered variations in the series offer complementary layouts and props.

Brilliant for adventurers who:

  • Run wizard tower encounters and want furnishings that read clearly on the table
  • Build display dioramas of arcane studies, guild halls, or royal archives
  • Need scatter terrain to dress dungeon rooms, tavern back rooms, or merchant stalls
  • Paint terrain pieces as part of their hobby and want fine, rewarding detail to work with

Encounter Hook: The party has broken into the sanctum of the city's most reclusive sage — only to find the scroll rack ransacked, three crucial documents missing, and a coded message scratched into the wood of the top shelf. Someone got here first, and they knew exactly what they were looking for.
