Description

Behind the silk robes and bead-strung finery, the Rakshasa's tiger eyes miss nothing — and they have been planning this moment for a very long time.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Rakshasa is one of D&D's most layered villains: not merely a monster, but a schemer. Fiends born of mortal sin and reincarnated into a life of manipulation and hunger, they operate from positions of power — merchants, nobles, spymasters — while indulging appetites no human court would tolerate. This sculpt by Monster Atlas captures that duality brilliantly. Broad-shouldered and barrel-chested, the figure wears layered robes and a heavy cape that speaks to wealth and authority, cinched with a wide leather belt. A string of carved beads crosses the chest, and one clawed hand grips an ornate ceremonial staff while the other curls in a half-fist — relaxed enough to be civil, clenched enough to be a threat. The snarling tiger head is crowned with a low, gilded cap, framed by a wild mane, with pointed ears and fangs bared in that particular expression Rakshasas wear when they've already won and simply haven't told you yet.

At 32mm scale this miniature holds an impressive presence on the board, with a depth of detail that rewards careful painting — the bead textures, the fabric folds in the cape, and the knuckle detail on those large feline hands all repay time at the brush. Equally at home on a display shelf as on a gaming table.

Well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Need a commanding Rakshasa boss or recurring BBEG for their D&D 5e campaign
  • Are running an intrigue-heavy arc involving disguised fiends, corrupt nobility, or hidden cults
  • Want an NPC that reads as powerful and civilised before the mask slips
  • Are adding to a display collection of TTRPG fiends and outsiders
  • Enjoy detailed miniatures that reward careful painting across multiple texture types

Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to investigate a merchant guild whose contracts always seem to benefit one partner above all others — a well-dressed figure named Lord Varesh, who conducts business from a candlelit estate and has never once been seen to eat in public. When a junior clerk goes missing and a trail of claw marks is found behind a locked study door, the adventurers begin to suspect that the guild's most influential member is not entirely what he appears to be.

Details

Supplied at 32mm scale. The miniature and base are separate pieces, designed to be attached with superglue. The decorative base is recommended, as the sculpt is designed to interact with it. Supplied unpainted and ready for priming — a small number of minor surface marks from the printing process are possible, but easily tidied up before painting.
