Listing & Collection Overhaul Listing & Collection Overhaul

Hello & Welcome!

We wanted to give just another quick update about some other changes we've been working on in the background over the past few weeks.

We felt like our Listings, Tags (for filtering), and Collections were a bit lacking. We wanted to jazz things up to make them both more interesting and functional for you.

And to that end we've done some magic in the background to generate new listings for all of our 9500+ listings and revamped how the items are tagged to make finding the right mini for your tabletop easier.

And with the new tagging structure, we've created more Collections to help you browse for minis by environment as well.

We've still kept our Artist based collections so that you can browse the collections of your favourite Artists.

The tagging taxonomy we have used is the core D&D Player Character / Monster classification as well as the main core environments so they should better align with the games we are playing.

Also regarding the tagging, we hope that the better way in which we tags products will make it easier for you to find items. Previously, the tagging was either not consistent or not touching on adjacent categories in case something could be used in multiple ways.

Of course, we still have our Search feature as well as our Favourites features, so those functions can still help you as they have done before, but with the Search feature enhanced with the better product tagging.

We hope that you enjoy the new layout and enhanced information available for each Listing. The objective we had was to give more specific details steeped in D&D Lore and give some suggestions for how the item could be used with an Encounter Hook as well as suggestions for other similar Collections that may sit well with the item you are looking at.

What we feel is one of our differentiators in the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy mini market is also potentially one of the things that makes shopping for Minis harder and that is our extensive library of items. But we feel that giving a wide range of selection far outweighs the potential to get a bit lost in the Library (but maybe getting lost here is not such a bad thing :-) ) and these enhancements will help improve searching and finding the right item.

Here are our Collections -

And just an important use about AI. Yes, we used AI as a tool to help make all this magic. But here at Mitz & Simz we take the responsible use of tools like AI very, very seriously. And that is what they are - Tools to use to help enhance the human experience, not replace it. As we have stated in many other posts, we firmly support the creativity of our Artists that produce the designs. And we also strongly support the creativity of everyone in the community in terms of their expression through Role Play and Creativity in Homebrewing, Painting, World Building, etc - everything that makes this hobby so wonderful.  We took great care in the tools we used to help us make this overhaul in order to protect the intellectual property of what our artists have created but we wanted to be clear and transparent to everyone on our stance. Powerful tools like AI can be very helpful but they must be used responsibly and in a way that both respects and preserves our humanity and individuality.

That aside, we are quite excited with the changes we have done and we feel that we have used the tools safely and effectively to really enhance your browsing experience on our site. Caveat - as is common with the use of these tools, sometimes it can get things wrong. With such a large library its hard for us to check everything in great detail, so if there is some hallucinatory information, we apologise, and definitely reach out and get in touch, It will be a Human that replies to you, not some AI generated message. Mitz & Simz would be happy to reply as well, but without thumbs, its hard, and to be honest, more than likely they would either ask for cuddles or treats instead of answering your actual query. But yes, if something is a bit strange, please just reach out - we are always here and happy to help.

Please have a browse of what we've changed / enhanced and let us know what you think and if you have comments on how we can make things better, please also reach out.

As always, we thank you for your support!

So this time I'll sign off with - Happy Browsing, Gaming, & Painting! And a lovely weekend!

-Pete (& Mitz & Simz)
