Artist Focus - Mia Kay M3DM Artist Focus - Mia Kay M3DM

Hello and welcome!

This post rounds out our posts about our initial three artists that we supported when we started this 3D printing Adventure.

The third artist we are showcasing is Mia Kay M3DM. Check out her page here - Mia Kay M3DM.

While searching for artists, we came across Mia Kay M3DM and her artwork and we were hooked. She has a huge library and a style that is truly her own. Her passion for her work comes through in her designs and they are truly stunning. (I don't like to play favourites with the artists myself, but her designs are Sharron's favourite. :-) )

She has a wide range of classic monsters, elegant characters, and cute creations. A lot of unique minis as well. But indeed, each one with their own distinct look and feel while still continuing to sculpt her own work as well.

Each model has lovely little details but they are still easy to paint and look amazing once complete.

She is quite prolific in creating models and is super active within her community. Currently she is working through Patron requests and models are released every few days (we add the models relatively quickly after they are released). Mia Kay M3DM really is super friendly and just so happy to work with the community to bring the different imaginations of her Patrons to life and in a way that make the models equally accessible to everyone. Each mini she designs has the same love and passion in it and it shows. It is very easy to identify a design of hers amongst others.

I tend to scale up the models by 15% to get them to be 32mm scale and this just helps to highlight the lovely details on each model. They scale wonderfully but reach out to us in case you need a specific scaling.

Nearly all of her models come with options for a decorative base or without a base (some rare exceptions exist - if curious, please reach out). The decorative bases are nice and add to the design without being too busy but they also do not affect the model posing should you choose to have no base or just a plain base.

Please have a browse of her library as her minis can really bring something unique to your Dungeons & Dragons Tabletop. And actually, even though they are unique, they are instantly recognisable as something classic but with her own novel take on the designs that can bring that extra little dimension to the game.

She livestreams her current sculping work on a regular basis and they are a good fun watch. And her Discord is a super friendly place to hang out. We are super proud to support her work and if you wish to support her as well, please check out her site (again, not a shameless plug, she is just such a wonderful artist / person and does such great things for the community).

Happy gaming and painting!

-Pete from Mitz & Simz
