The sculpt captures the figure mid-stride, weight low and forward, as though pushing through the resistance of its own decay to reach the next target. Every detail — the pointed ears, the gaunt jaw, the layered pauldrons — speaks to what this creature once was, which makes what it has become all the more unsettling.

On the tabletop this is a versatile threat. Field it as part of an undead warband left behind by a defeated drow necromancer, station it in the tunnels of the Underdark as a guardian that long outlasted its master, or use it as the centrepiece of a crypt encounter where the party realises the armour on the skeletons is altogether too fine. The detail rewards careful painting — bone, tarnished silver, faded violet cloth, and the green-grey of corrupted flesh all compete for attention across a sculpt that has genuine character at every angle.

Equally suited to display painting as to encounter play, this miniature is the kind of piece that earns its place both on the mat and on the shelf.

Adventurers who'll want this one:

Dungeon Masters building Underdark encounters with undead drow warbands

Painters drawn to the contrast between disciplined armour and decaying flesh

Collectors expanding a themed undead or drow display

Players running campaigns with a necromancer villain tied to dark elf lore

Encounter Hook

The party descends into a collapsed drow outpost, following rumours of a missing merchant caravan. At the first junction, a soft rhythmic clanking echoes from the dark — and then the torchlight catches the glint of a spearhead. The lancer doesn't speak. It simply advances, armour rattling, spear levelled, with three more silhouettes moving into formation behind it.
