The figure is a stocky, broad-shouldered guardsman caught in a confident at-ease stance — one hand gripping a tall halberd with a wide, curved axe blade, the other resting at his hip with a casual authority that says he's seen worse than your party. His studded leather breastplate is detailed with rows of rivets, and his pauldrons sit squarely on thick shoulders. A shortsword hangs at his belt alongside a pouch, and his feet are planted in sturdy buckled boots beneath a mid-length tabard that drapes behind him. The broad-brimmed kettle hat is the finishing touch — practical headgear that's done time in more than a few scraps.

The four-angle render shows clean, sharp detailing throughout — the riveted armour reads beautifully at scale, the halberd shaft has a convincing taper, and the flowing back of the tabard gives real depth. This variation (01) presents the watchman in a composed, planted pose — authoritative rather than aggressive, which makes him equally useful as a static gate guard, a checkpoint enforcer, or an NPC the party needs to bribe, bluff, or befriend.

Suited to adventurers who want to:

Populate city gates, guardhouses, and urban encounters with grounded, characterful NPCs

Build out a watch patrol for Waterdeep, Ravnica, or any homebrew settlement

Use a varied set — check out other numbered Watchman Halberdier variants for different poses

Add a well-armoured human fighter or paladin NPC to a campaign's recurring cast

Display a finely detailed medieval soldier mini on a painting or hobby shelf

Encounter Hook: The party arrives at the northern gate of Arrenmouth after curfew.
