His expression is wide-eyed and alarmed, hand raised to the side of his head as if he's just heard a sound he really didn't want to hear. His shortsword is drawn but held loosely — the posture of a man deciding whether to fight or flee.

He's dressed in the practical gear of a low-ranking city guard: riveted studded leather armour with pauldrons, a broad-brimmed iron hat, knee-high boots, and a long coat that's seen better days — stitched repairs visible along the back hem. A padlock-shaped token hangs at his hip, a satisfying worldbuilding detail that hints at his role as a keeper of keys, cells, or curfews. The sculpt has a lightly exaggerated, expressive quality that sits beautifully alongside other Novaminis town figures.

This variation — number 10 in the series — distinguishes itself from other watchmen in the range through its distinctive reactive pose and that brilliant alarmed expression, making him the go-to choice when you need a guard who's just walked into something far above his pay grade.

A great choice for adventurers who:

Need city guards with personality rather than generic soldier poses

Run urban campaigns, city intrigue arcs, or Watch-based encounter tables

Want an NPC that tells a story the moment it hits the table

Are building out a full city watch patrol for display or gaming use

Play Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, Ravnica, or any city-heavy campaign setting

Encounter Hook

The party is slipping through the Merchant Quarter after curfew when they round a corner and come face-to-face with Watchman Aldric — sword out, eyes wide, looking for all the world like he's seen something far worse than a group of adventurers. He's not alarmed by them. He's alarmed by what's in the warehouse behind them. Do they help him, bribe him to look the other way, or run before whatever spooked him gets out?

Details

32mm scale. Supplied unpainted and unassembled if required. Sculpted with fine surface detail — the riveted armour, boot cuffs, and coat stitching all take paint and wash techniques extremely well.
