spined-devil-by-atlanticus-arts
Spined Devil by Atlanticus Arts

From the iron wastes of Avernus it descends — all barbed hide, gaping maw, and the shriek of membranous wings — a Spined Devil, lowly in the infernal hierarchy yet utterly savage in its hunger for blood and chaos.

✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK

✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime

✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs

✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This Spined Devil sculpt by Atlanticus Arts captures the creature mid-charge — clawed feet planted on a rubble-strewn scenic base, spine-ridged torso twisted forward with raw menace, and a serrated bone trident levelled at whatever poor adventurer dared to draw its attention. The great membranous wings spread wide behind it, each pinion tipped with vicious curved spines, while the long barbed tail coils out to one side, ready to lash. The head is thrown back in a snarling roar, rows of teeth visible and a cluster of knuckled horns crowning the skull. Every surface of the sculpt bristles — spines ridge the shoulders, shins, and joints, and the musculature beneath reads as corded and taut, built for sudden, brutal violence rather than any form of patience.

Spined Devils occupy a particular niche in D&D 5e lore as the rank-and-file shock troops of the Nine Hells — chaotic, disposable, and thoroughly vicious. They harry the flanks of infernal armies, harass enemies with volleys of their own detachable spines, and swarm adventurers who have made the mistake of trespassing in Avernus. This sculpt gives that creature genuine presence on the table; the dynamic pose and intricate surface detail reward both a quick tabletop paint scheme and a more ambitious display treatment with deep washes and OSL effects picking out the brimstone glow of Avernus itself.

The integrated scenic base — broken stone and rubble — grounds the figure well and will blend naturally into dungeon-tile layouts or an Avernus-themed battlefield. Collectors seeking a centrepiece fiend will find plenty of fine surface detail to work into, while DMs running infernal incursion encounters will appreciate how imposing this figure looks even before a drop of paint touches it.

Adventurers building an infernal warband or Avernus campaign encounter group

Painters who enjoy working with deeply textured, spine-covered organic surfaces

DMs who want a fiend that reads as dangerous from across the table

Collectors drawn to dynamic, mid-action fantasy creature sculpts

Encounter Hook: The party's paladin swore an oath to seal the rift beneath Candlekeep — but three Spined Devils have already slipped through, roosting in the library's bell tower and systematically destroying every ward that might close it.
