The creature stands mid-stride on a detailed decorative base — one clawed arm raised and reaching, the other hoisting a battered lantern aloft. It's a pose full of dark purpose: part reverence, part threat. The bulbous, pustule-riddled body is wrapped in ragged cloth and chain, and the fish-like head — all gaping maw, vestigial frills, and dead-eyed menace — crowns a form that clearly hasn't left the abyss behind, no matter how far it has wandered onto land.

The sculpt rewards careful painting. There's genuine texture throughout — scaled skin that catches dry-brushing beautifully, tattered fabric with fine folds, and a lantern detailed enough to attempt object source lighting if you're feeling ambitious. The scenic base adds rocky terrain and carved stonework, giving the miniature a grounded, atmospheric quality straight out of the box. This is a model that earns its place both in an active encounter and on a display shelf.

Whether you're statting it up as a sahuagin cultist, a Deep One hybrid, or something altogether homebrew and eldritch, this sculpt brings the coastal horror genre to your table with real conviction.

Well suited for adventurers who:

Run aquatic or coastal horror campaigns where the tide brings worse things than seaweed

Need an unsettling mid-tier monster with genuine visual presence on the table

Enjoy display painting — the textures and lantern detail offer excellent scope for advanced techniques

Want a creature that blurs the line between humanoid and something far older

Encounter Hook

The fishing village of Crestmere has been leaving lanterns on the pier at night — not to guide ships in, but to answer the ones flickering out in the deep water. The party arrives to find the village half-empty, and on the third night, something answers the lights on shore: a hunched figure, soaking wet, carrying a lantern of its own, walking calmly up the beach as though it has done this a hundred times before.
