He's a heavyset, broad-shouldered fellow with a full beard, a bald crown, and the slightly world-weary posture of a man who has spent decades surrounded by books that never quite stay where he puts them. His button-up coat and simple trousers speak to practicality over fashion, and he carries two thick tomes — one in each hand — with the easy confidence of someone who does this every single day. A feather quill is tucked at his side, ready for annotations, corrections, and the occasional strongly worded margin note.

As the third variation in the Librarian series, this sculpt distinguishes itself with its front-facing, grounded stance — both arms out to the sides, books held at hip height. Where other variations in the set may differ in pose or expression, this one has a stillness to it: a man who has stopped mid-task, perhaps having heard a noise in the restricted section, or simply pausing to consider which shelf a returned tome belongs on. He reads as instantly trustworthy — and therefore exactly the sort of NPC your players will absolutely fail to suspect.

Whether you're running a city campaign where the municipal library holds the key to a forgotten prophecy, a dungeon delve where a scholar NPC accompanies the party, or a mystery where the librarian knows far more than he lets on, this miniature earns his place at the table.

A great choice for adventurers who:

Need a reliable, characterful scholar NPC for urban or academic settings

Are running campaigns with arcane libraries, forbidden knowledge, or mystery plots

Want a civilian figure that reads as an individual rather than a generic townsperson

Are collecting the full Librarian series from Novaminis for a complete academic ensemble

Paint character miniatures for display and want a figure with interesting texture and personality

Encounter Hook: The party arrives at the Grand Archive of Thornwall seeking a map to the sealed vault beneath the city. The head librarian — a bearded, unassuming man carrying two enormous ledgers — greets them with polite suspicion. He knows exactly where the map is. He has no intention of fetching it until he's certain of their intentions. And the longer the party talks to him, the more they realise he's been expecting them.

Details

Librarian 03 is a 32mm scale miniature, supplied unpainted and unassembled where applicable. This is the third sculpt in the Librarian series — adventurers collecting the full set may wish to browse the other variants for the complete ensemble. Rendered in a slightly stylised, characterful aesthetic consistent with the Novaminis range, this sculpt features crisp detail across the coat buttons, beard texture, and book spines.

Sculpted by Novaminis — visit their collection to explore more of their monster and NPC range.

Pairs well with townsfolk and NPC collections and wilderness and urban adventure settings — or explore more from Novaminis.

Overseen by two black cats who take quality control very seriously.

Ready to add this adventurer to your collection?
