He wears the bulk and armour of a naval officer corrupted by something far older than the sea itself: layered coats hanging in tatters, heavy boots carved with arcane markings, and epaulettes that suggest rank in some terrible underwater hierarchy. His diving helmet is fused — or perhaps colonised — by a mass of cephalopod tentacles that writhe out through its visor and coil across his barrel chest, a detail that raises an immediate and deeply uncomfortable question for any Dungeon Master worth their salt.

In one meaty fist he drags a length of heavy chain studded with skull-shaped links. At the chain's far end stumble two bound sahuagin — one defiant, one on its knees — each sculpted with the kind of feral, emaciated menace that makes them feel genuinely dangerous even in captivity. As a multipart sculpt, Kraag and his wretched cargo come together to form a scene with real narrative weight: a slaver from the depths, coming to collect something your party has that he intends to take.

Whether you're running a coastal campaign, a deep-sea horror arc, or a Planescape encounter in the sunken levels of a forgotten city, Kraag Deepchain works as a memorable BBEG, a lieutenant for something even worse, or a morally grey quest-giver whose methods are deeply questionable and whose connections go somewhere the party probably shouldn't follow.

Dungeon Masters running aquatic or coastal horror campaigns

Painters drawn to Lovecraftian and nautical horror aesthetics

Anyone who wants a centrepiece mini that generates instant table discussion

Collectors building out deep-sea encounter encounters with real personality

Encounter Hook: The party's ship drops anchor in a fog-shrouded cove to find three fishing vessels stripped to the hull and drifting. As they board the closest wreck, a trapdoor in the hold bursts open and Kraag Deepchain hauls himself up from the bilge water, dragging two thrashing sahuagin on chains — and demanding to know which of the crew matches the description on his bounty contract.

Details

35mm scale

Multipart assembly required

Supplied unpainted — no base coat applied

Available with or without a plain base

Sculpted by Great Grimoire

Sculpted by Great Grimoire — visit their collection to explore more of their characterful deep-world sculpts.

Pairs well with aquatic encounters and Underdark delves — or explore more from Great Grimoire.

Mitz & Simz — bringing independent sculpts to adventurers everywhere, one order at a time.

Ready to add this adventurer to your collection?
