This is no shambling grave-risen zombie — it is a constructed horror, its ribcage layered with the bones of beasts, its elongated arms terminating in curved, grasping claws that reach out mid-lunge. A serpentine tail of vertebrae and fang-lined skulls trails behind it as its powerful legs coil to strike, giving the sculpt an explosive, spring-loaded dynamism that few undead miniatures achieve.

The skull is crowned with bony horns and locked in a jaw-stretched snarl, while the torso is built from layer upon layer of ribs — some humanoid, some clearly belonging to creatures far larger and more dangerous. The whole composition suggests a necromancer's deliberate craft: this is a champion assembled from the most formidable parts available, bound together by dark will into something that moves with terrifying purpose.

Mounted on a large 51mm base, the Bone Champion Claws commands real table presence. Whether painted bone-white with black-washed recesses for a classic undead look, or pushed towards sickly green necrotic energy in the eye sockets and between the ribs, this sculpt rewards every hour you put into it. It works equally well as a centrepiece encounter monster or as the crown jewel of a display shelf.

Adventurers who'll love this miniature:

Dungeon Masters building a necromancer's elite undead warband

Players running Ravenloft or Shadowfell campaigns who want a memorable boss-tier threat

Painters who want a large, complex undead sculpt with layered bone detail to work through

Collectors who appreciate large-format display pieces with dynamic, aggressive poses

Encounter Hook: The party descends into the catacombs beneath the Ossuary of Vel Morath, following reports of grave robberies across the region. What they find is not a grave robber but the work of one — the bones of the vault's interred champions have been stripped and reassembled into a single composite guardian, which now rises from the altar at the chamber's heart, claws spread wide, to defend its creator's sanctum.

Details

Scale: 32mm (large base — 51mm)

Base options: plain base included; no-base version also available

Supplied unpainted

Multipart assembly may be required

Sculpted by Epic Miniatures — visit their page to see more of their work.

Pairs well with other undead horrors and Ravenloft gothic horror campaigns — or explore more from Epic Miniatures.

Two black cats who have never once assisted with packing but maintain excellent morale.

Ready to add this adventurer to your collection?
