bone-champion-by-epic-miniatures
Bone Champion by Epic Miniatures

Something ancient clawed its way free from the burial mound — not a mindless shambling skeleton, but a champion, still furious, still hunting, and absolutely unwilling to stay dead.

✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK

✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime

✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs

✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Bone Champion is no ordinary undead thrall. This large-based miniature depicts a towering skeletal warrior mid-stride, one leg raised as though mid-charge, with both arms thrown wide in a savage posture that radiates aggression. The anatomy is unmistakably reptilian — the long-jawed skull, the pronounced dorsal ridges running down the spine, and the layered ribcage all suggest this was once a great beast before death claimed it. Now, bound by dark necromantic will, it stalks forward with the same predatory intent it carried in life.

The detail on this sculpt rewards careful painting. Rows of exposed ribs interlock across the torso, the limbs are wrapped in sinew-like bony protrusions, and the base is littered with crushed skulls and bone fragments — the remnants of those who failed to stop it before you. The secondary skull mounted near the foot and the jagged rock formation give the base real narrative weight without overcrowding the composition.

At Large base size (51mm), this miniature commands the table physically as well as thematically. Whether you're running it as a dracolich's guardian, a CR-appropriate undead heavy for a graveyard ambush, or a grotesque trophy of a necromancer's finest work, it delivers the kind of presence that makes your players' eyes widen when you place it on the mat.

Equally compelling off the table — painters looking for a technically satisfying piece will find plenty to work with across the interlocking bone textures, the hollow eye sockets of the scattered skulls, and the contrast opportunities between the pale bone of the main body and the darker, weathered debris underfoot.

Well suited to adventurers who:

Need a large undead creature to serve as a graveyard or crypt encounter centrepiece

Are running campaigns with heavy necromancy themes — Curse of Strahd, Tomb of Annihilation, or homebrew undead arcs

Want a distinctive skeletal creature that reads as more than a generic skeleton at a glance

Are building a painted display piece that showcases intricate bone and boneyard texturing

Play or DM for groups that appreciate genuinely threatening-looking undead enemies

Encounter Hook

The party descends into the Catacombs of Vael Mourne, following the trail of three missing grave-wardens. The torchlight catches movement — not the shuffle of a common skeleton, but the deliberate, predatory advance of something that was once enormous and alive. The Bone Champion of Vael Mourne has stood vigil here for three centuries. The grave-wardens found it first.
