The Bone Champion does not shuffle. It lunges — driving a long bone-hafted spear forward with the coiled ferocity of a predator that has not forgotten a single hunting instinct from its living days. This sculpt captures that moment of committed aggression: a broad-striding lizardfolk skeleton, jaws split wide in a silent battle-cry, spear extended low and a round wooden shield raised defensively at the opposite shoulder.

The skeletal anatomy is rendered with impressive detail — layered rib sections, articulated vertebral tails, clawed feet planted atop scattered skulls, and scraps of dried sinew still binding the joints together. The skull is distinctly reptilian, broad-snouted with heavy brow ridges and gaping jaw, suggesting a creature that was fearsome in life and has shed none of that menace in undeath. The shield bears carved wood-grain detailing, and the spearhead is a heavy bladed design wrapped with cord binding, giving the weapon a tribal, hand-crafted quality that speaks to the Bone Champion's original culture.

Whether you're statting it out as a minotaur skeleton, a lizardfolk revenant, a bone naga guardian, or simply the most terrifying undead soldier in a necromancer's warband, this miniature brings character and physicality to encounters that plain skeletal warriors simply cannot match.

Particularly well-suited for adventurers who:

Need a commanding undead warrior to anchor a crypt or tomb encounter

Want an undead lizardfolk or reptilian guardian for a swamp or jungle dungeon

Are building a necromancer's elite guard with more presence than standard skeletons

Paint undead miniatures and want a sculpt with deep bone-texture detail to work with

Display painted undead miniatures and want a dynamic, show-worthy centrepiece

Encounter Hook

The party has followed the swamp trail to the sunken temple — and found the entrance sealed not by a door, but by a Bone Champion standing motionless in the threshold. It does not move until one of them steps onto the cracked flagstone before the arch. Then the spear comes down, and the jaws open wide, and the skulls at its feet begin to rattle.

Details

Scale: 32mm | Base: Available with or without a plain round base | Assembly: Multipart miniature — minor assembly required | Supplied unpainted

Sculpted by Epic Miniatures — visit their collection to explore more of their work.

Pairs well with undead warbands and swamp and marshland campaigns — or explore more from Epic Miniatures.

For Tabaxi adventurers especially — yes, the cats did purr when this one came through.
